MBBS Programme

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a 5.5-year programme comprising 4.5 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship.

Curriculum

The curriculum follows the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) framework prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Phase I — Pre-clinical (1 year)

• Anatomy
• Physiology
• Biochemistry
• Introduction to Community Medicine

Phase II — Para-clinical (1 year)

• Pathology
• Pharmacology
• Microbiology
• Forensic Medicine
• Community Medicine

Phase III — Clinical (2.5 years)

Clinical postings across all major and minor clinical departments including:

• General Medicine
• General Surgery
• Pediatrics
• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Orthopedics
• Ophthalmology
• ENT
• Dermatology
• Psychiatry
• Emergency Medicine
• Anaesthesiology
• Radiodiagnosis

Internship

The 1-year compulsory rotatory internship includes rotations in all clinical departments.
