Functions and mechanisms of the human body
Introduction
Physiology is a Greek word (Physis: nature; Logos: discourse). The term was coined by Jean Fernel, a French Physician. Physiology is the scientific study of normal functioning of living systems. Human Physiology is concerned with the way the human system functions and contributes to the functioning of the human body as a whole. The department was established as a part of Medical College in 1997. The major contribution for setting up the department was given by Dr. J. L. Agarwal, who was Professor & Head from 1997 to 2008.
