Introduction

Founded in 1997 by Prof. R.K. Kaushal, Late Prof. V.K. Sharma and Dr. Sanjeev Chaudhary. The department is a leading academic health centre for pediatric specialty education. It has subspecialties of Neonatology, Pulmonology, and Pediatric Intensive Care. It was the first in the state to have a Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology super-specialty cell and the first Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic of HP (2022). In 2022, the department had over 50,000 OPD consultations, 6,600+ inpatients, 1,000 PICU admissions, and 2,600 NICU/SNCU admissions.
